What to Pack in Your Emergency Roadside Kit

An emergency roadside kit is essential.
You can’t rely on your phone for everything.

Although no one plans to get stuck on the side of the road while traveling, it is important to prepare for unfortunate events by packing an emergency roadside kit. Your kit can be as comprehensive or as basic as you choose, but here are some of the items we at Bill Walsh Toyota think are necessities.

  1. ToyotaCare information card
  2. First aid kit
  3. Flashlight and extra batteries
  4. Blanket
  5. Bottled water
  6. Energy-rich snacks like trail mix or energy bars
  7. Rechargeable battery stick
  8. Screwdriver
  9. Pocket knife
  10. Ice scraper
  11. Collapsible shovel
  12. Extra windshield washer fluid, antifreeze, and brake fluid
  13. Two quarts of oil and a funnel
  14. Extra fuses
  15. Roadside flares

As you create your emergency kit, be sure that you know how to use all of the supplies in it. You won’t want to fumble around trying to read or research directions in the midst of an unexpected situation that is likely to make you frazzled already. Of course, feel free to add optional items like a good book or a travel game to keep yourself entertained as you wait.

Ideally, you won’t ever have to use your emergency kit, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

2015 Toyota Camry Design Is a Bold New Upgrade

The 2015 Toyota Camry design is cool and classy.
Toyota has changed up everything on the new Toyota Camry from styling to handling.

If you haven’t seen the new Camry’s look, you might be surprised to hear that it’s bolder than ever. An impressive new redesign is keeping the Camry at the top of its class. Toyota designers sure know how to spice things up.

Toyota has changed up everything from handling to exterior styling on the new model. This impressive Toyota Camry design sure has heads turning, thanks to an aggressive new bumper and grille, better headlights, and a sleeker, longer body. According to Toyota, the premium materials inside the cabin are a new touch as well.

“Camry buyers may be entertained by more assertive driving dynamics. Cost-conscious interiors have been upgraded with more soft surfaces, nicer detailing, and contemporary electronic gear. Chassis systems—steering, brakes, suspension—receive minor changes aimed at better ride and feel,” said Don Sherman at Car and Driver.

The Camry also features an optional 3.5-liter V6, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The new model can do zero-to-60 in 5.8 seconds and still get up to 35 highway mpg.
